Toxic

There are some people in our lives
As toxic as they come;
I have no inkling, none at all,
Just where their venom’s from.
They greet you very pleasantly
And innocently smile,
A smile that doesn’t reach their eyes
And reeks only of guile.
They latch on every word you speak
For any currency,
The kind that socialites will have,
Some gossip with their tea.
And then some help you when you’re down,
A wonderful repose,
But when you try to get back up,
They firmly will oppose.
They drain your energy and strength,
A drag to be around,
So full of negativity
You positively drown.
Their tongues are forked, you never know
If what they say is true,
But this is why you say to them,
Good-bye, so long, adieu.

    1. I don’t like cold potatoes either. Maybe a little more than lukewarm is the way to go.

      1. Or just throw them – uncooked. Great missiles.x
