A film of soapy water forms a hollow sphere,
That’s what it says on Wiki, iridescent, clear.
They serve as complex problems, mathematically,
Soapy constant curvature, enclosed geometry.
Their surfaces reflect, both convex and concave,
Some bubbleologists can even make a wave.
But what Wiki doesn’t say, at least that I’m aware,
Is where these suds are from – dimensions everywhere.
With eyes that see the world in vivid color tones,
They’re lenses in disguise as gauzy jewel stones.
Strange beings look in awe, amazed at earthly sights,
And bubbles pop with pictures they take in pure delight.
very cleverly thought out
It did take a little thinking…or rather, Wiki’ing. π
That was worth getting up at 3am to read.
Haha okay that’s brutal. You have horrible sleep habits just like me. A lot of things at 3 am will seem pretty good. That’s why they play infomercials so late at night/early in the morning…because they know the people watching at those times are more likely to buy their stuff because they are sleep deprived and judgment impaired. By the way, you need a food dehydrator and a pasta maker? I have too many. π
Actually it was a very hard first day on the job yesterday and I was up worrying. But Yeah send that food dehydrator on. Need to make some jerky! π
The first week or two, or even month, at a new job is always tough as there is a steep learning curve. Hopefully it gets easier sooner than later. I’ll go look for the dehydrator that’s hiding somewhere in my closet full of infomercial goods. I may not make it back out.
Go one of those thigh masters?…legs are getting a little flabby!
Day 2 went much better. Yeah learning curve is big on this job. It an adult day care center for the developmentally disabled population. Lots of stuff to learn. But its a good thing π
Thats brilliant, i’ve never seen the words Geometry, convex, concave, mathematically in a poem before…and in the words of a famous Finding Nemo character…BUBBLES BUBBLES BUBBLES!!
Good stuff
Huh, I’m surprised. Of all the words that were written, I would have thought bubbleologist would have been the term a person was least likely to have seen before in a poem. And yes, bubbles, bubbles, bubbles! π
pfft, bubbleologist appear in poems more than “love” “Adore” “Moon” and “Soul” π lol
Lol now that would make for some interesting reads.
I bubble for you like a bubbleologist bubbles for bubbles in the bubble of my bubbling heart.
I figure they would read something like that? π
Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten Bubbleologists!
Edgar Allan Blow π
ROFL. The forgotten bubble files. π
to be read “nevermore” π
Okay, stop, you’re killing rofl.
π Its only puns, and nothing more π
You two are too punny! π
π
And to make up for the bubble i popped yesterday…here is a second comment…on purpose π
I am somewhat mollified. π
π Thats why they call me the bubble restorer!*
*They dont, i dont even know who “they” are π
“They” are whoever you want them to be! That’s the wonderful thing about “they”. “They” are always on your side. π
Phew, Just have to be careful of “them” then? π
Exactly lmao. π
and dont get me started on “those” π
(I know, you are wondering how such darkness comes from this twisted mind of mine! lol)
Yes, actually, I was about to write something to that parenthetical extent. I can add mind-reader to the list of talents that you have. π
haha, its the mind reading that causes the darkness…imagine being able to read everyones thoughts…would make you suicidal! lol
They’re usually from the washing-up bowl, aren’t they?
I was thinking more of the bubbles that kids blow in the air rather than the ones from doing dishes.
Ah…well they come in little containers at the corner shop.
Wonderful:)
More bubbles for you! π
Delightful poem. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
Many thanks. I’m so glad you did. π
Really dug this. I’m rarely into this kind of rhyme scheme, but it didn’t feel forced in at all. Great subject matter and especially enjoyed the first line of the second stanza. Thanks for sharing!
That makes me very happy! So glad you enjoyed it! π
I am Purrrrrring this ever so softly, Cubby,

Wow, that is too kind and generous of you. I’m deeply honored for the consideration and touched by the way you presented it to me in such a lovely purring fashion. I will check out the link to your page for the info. π
This is fabulously fun! Reminds me of
“I am the very model of a modern Major-General
I’ve information vegetable, animal, and mineral
I know the kings of England, and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo, in order categorical
I’m very well acquainted, too, with matters mathematical
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical
About binomial theorem I’m teeming with a lot o’ news
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse………..”
Well that’s bloody brilliant. I love words that you don’t even have to know the meaning of and yet they make complete sense in a poem. π
It’s a song TITLE: I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major General
you should check out the complete lyrics or watch a video clip if you are unfamiliar π
I don’t think I’m ready to consider bubbles as little creatures who observe and record us!
I bub this. I mean I love this. Wonderful poem on bubbles! π
Yay for bubbles! π
‘Twas my pleasure, and thank you also for your kind visit. π
Effervescent! Love bubbles floating about in the air…my mom couldn’t take me to a store without buying me a bottle of stuff to blow bubbles with…then she got wise and put some dish soap into one of my empty bottles…hmm…like them less so in the river, but what the hell! You should look up a blogger, Genetic Fractals, I’m sure he would have oodles to think about if you said bubbles to him!
Lol I’m sure he would be puzzled if I popped onto his site and just wrote “bubbles” in a random place and left. I’ve barely ever played with bubbles, but I love seeing pictures of them and I think I would enjoy playing with them now if I had the chance, but people might look at me funny if I went to a park and played with bubbles by myself at my age. I guess I need to borrow someone’s kid. π
Ah…my dear, don’t know your age…but I’m 61 and I’m thinking I’m going to go to the park just for the hell of it and blow me some bubbles! Genetic Fractals would probably make a post of how you can see the existence of the multi-demensions by blowing soap bubble π
