Please Know

On days when tears keep falling
And lonely nights feel cold,
Please know that you were wanted
By fate and earth to hold.

You feel the world’s against you;
No matter how you try,
You cannot find good reasons
To live and not to die.
Your heart and mind are shattered;
Your faith is torn in shreds;
Barbed anguish would ensnare you
And trap you in its treads.

On days when tears keep falling
And lonely nights feel cold,
Please know that you are wanted
By fate and earth to hold.

For all the gentle souls suffering during the holiday season, may you find strength in the light of the sun to guide you through the darkness.

For one and all, have a safe and cheerful Christmas, and may we never take a moment of happiness for granted.

    Extraordinary piece. Maybe I’ll make it through the day, tough one coming. Thks.

    1. I like to think of worst-case scenarios during tough times, which usually end up with me being either homeless, alone, dying, or the world suddenly exploding. Things don’t look so bad when I realize things could always be worse. I hope your worst-case scenario is not any of the above.

        Thank you for your wise words. Those scenarios already happened for me, but I managed a way out. Almost died twice, ended up totally alone many times, and I had to leave home when I was younger, found refuge in a squat after being on the street with no plan. Didn’t plan any of it though, other things happened too but those I keep for myself. Thank you for your attention. There is one left though : the world didn’t explode.

        I think it’s natural to think of worst case scenario and it can sometimes be healthy. Life’s full of surprises, but mainly, most of the time, it hones our lucidity. Which is good.

        1. You have an amazing attitude, and I applaud the strength it took to rise above your past circumstances. And yes, at least the world hasn’t exploded yet. 🙂

            Thank you Cubby, you gave me the strength to see things differently today. And courage too to look at things i had forgotten. Thks. Take care.

            Check out the last text when you have time ( you’re for something in it’s birth) Cheers.

  13. This is beautiful. Thank you 🙏

    1. And thank you for your compassion.

  14. Thank you, your kindness is beautiful.

  15. This is just wonderful. My heart has been shattered and remade so many times I think the pieces of the original must be microscopic. It’s a great comfort to know that there are people in the world who really do care. Thank you so much for this piece.

    1. A heart that doesn’t shatter is a heart that has never loved. That’s why shattered hearts are beautiful to me. When they are remade, I believe they are stronger than they were before. You must have an unbelievably strong and compassionate heart.

      1. I like to think so. It does keep beating, caring, crying, and pushing me forward long after reason says it shouldn’t. It’s seems my only choices now are to sing its song or remain silent. I can not limit myself to either, so I alternate. Maybe one day I will rise again, but for now I just have to keep on walking the path I’m on, wherever it leads.

  16. You captured the entire thought beautifully into words💓

    1. Thank you for your kind words. 🙂
