I nursed my
Broken heart,
Ashamed
At what I thought
An empty hole,
Until I found
That poetry

        I wonder if this happens to you but for as long as I can remember, I have only written a poem when I have had a surge of emotions that immediately need some form of artistic vent to escape from. Sometimes, it’s a song that I am listening to and a particular line would catch my attention long enough to scribble a verse or two. Other times, to the annoyance of my loved ones, it happens during movies scenes or some Netflix series when specific dialogues or scene settings would strike the emotion chord and I start writing! lol

          I actually thought the only reason I could write before was because I was depressed. Because of this belief, I have gone long periods of time (once 5 years and once 10 years) without writing a single poem. Now I know it is not true; although it may be easier to write when depressed, I can still write even when I’m not.

          It sounds like you are struck with moments of inspiration quite often, which is a wonderful thing. 🙂

            Lol! No, Cubby, I gave a wrong impression. It only happens when I am not working and have too much free time at hand! But I too once believed I could only write when feeling low which is of course not true. All one needs is interest and focus. 🙂💕

    beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Such a simple, short statement resonates with all of us who write because that’s where poetry comes from! Words are dead without the feelings behind them, good or bad. Good feelings turn into paeans of gratitude, and bad feelings are catharsis. ❤❤❤❤❤

    You always convey complex concepts so elegantly.
