A Rare Bear

For B.G. Bowers who expressed interest in a bear with a penchant for rabbit fur.

Disclaimer: Fur is for animals.

There once was a bear
    who lived in a lair
        who loved things to wear
    likes hats made of hare.

Although friends would stare,
    he thought he looked fair
        with a tassel of mare
    he wore as a flair.

He’d always prepare
    and was always aware
        of how to repair
    an unbidden tear.

One day on a dare,
    he rocked in his chair
        and tried to forswear
    his love in a snare.

He tried with a prayer,
    a lonely affair
        which couldn’t compare;
    he fell in despair.
He thus made a square,
    then another with care,
        in one hat of hare…
    and pulled on a pair
        of hare underwear.

Tiddy-boom! *ducks*

Toddy-boom sounds like a rather heavy rimshot. I guess it’s tiddy’s bigger brother.

It’s this bloody kindle fire, predicting what I want to say. Portable but perturbing. Maybe I’ll let it have its way one day and publish what it suggests. It might make for more entertaining reading. Confusing but funny. Think I should go and get my laptop but I don’t want to wake the house. I’ll suffer the smaller screen if you can bear with the bloopers. I need another coffee and cig before they all descend.x

*applauds* wonderfully whimsical 🙂 thanks for the dedication x

Oh, when will the bears grow tired of hares?!

    1. Cubby's avatar

Good question…he just got into hare underwear so it sounds like it could take awhile.

Ahh! That’s better. Second time around can indeed lift the spirits.x

And informative of the ways of a fashion-conscious bear. I try to be educational when possible.

Will the bunny allow this intrusion into its furry bits? Perhaps a bite or two with large bunny teeth will become appropriate in the future. Silly old bear!

    1. Cubby's avatar

To be fair, the bunnies started it. They went around sporting bear paw accessories.

haha that was cool, and using one sound to rhyme with is incredibly difficult…Kick ass job!
    😀

Technically, I was kicking hares. Asses would be more difficult to write about. Lasses and assess in pubescent crab grasses will leave the morasses engulfed in striped basses that flee from harasses with sighs and alas’es.

A little itch is nothing in the world of fashion. Thank goodness I don’t have to be fashionable.

Very much agree. A writer’s wardrobe: the most comfortable!

Oi Ducky, oops, i mean Cubby…’twas a merry ditty indeed mate…and all in strict rhyme too! Loverly!

    1. Cubby's avatar

Wouldn’t it be? “All I want is a room somewhere, far away from the cold night air, with one enormous chair…”

      1. Georgia's avatar

        Hiding in a lair
        Far away from care
        Contemplating cold night air…
        But alas beware!
The moon is no longer there
        To glisten in your hair
And so the rhyme ends there!
        😉

You make such wonderful noises. Hopefully you don’t eat and snort at the same time. That may not be pleasant.

I was doing a pretty good job of containing my chuckles until I got to the last line… and then I lost it. You really have a delightfully wacky sense of humor. 😀

    1. Cubby's avatar

Why thank you! I much prefer wacky over wacko. 😀

Your bear did better than my haiku bear.

    1. Cubby's avatar

Maybe if your haiku bear wore some clothes it could have fooled the hunter. 🙂

Lol I’m so happy you do! 🙂
