When crocodiles cry
It makes people ask
If their tears are real
Or just a fake mask.
Old tales from the past tell
Of how they will cry
To lure in warm victims
Who happen nearby.
They weep when they stab
Their prey with their claws
And weep as they crunch
Their prey in their jaws,
And when they are done
They feel no remorse…
For crocodiles cry
When happy, of course.

Yes, the human variant cries fake tears and are secretly happy when they receive sympathy while preying on the kindness of others.
LOLing! Of course! Crocodiles cry from joy, they like to roll their victims too, playing with their food, like kitty cats do!
Kitty cats are a gazillion times cuter than crocodiles when they roll around with their food.
Bastet says: “Too right you are…and I should know! We did have those ghastly bothersome creatures on the Nile…quite useless and ugly really…hmmm…better not let Sobek hear me say that!”
Except, of course, that crocodiles, regardless of the old myths about them, can’t actually cry at all, not having any tear ducts.
Aha! I actually was ready for you this time. I looked this up before I wrote the poem. They have lacrimal glands that produce tears, and while they may not technically be “crying”, they can and do produce tears.
My mistake. I stand corrected. I was thinking of Klingons.

Ah, sharks would be difficult as they do not have lacrimal glands and cannot produce tears, and I have a hunch that would upset at least one reader that I have here. But I’ll try to see what I can do. 🙂

Nasty buggers too… kinda like clowns with the painted on tears or smiles…hiding the evil that lurks within. (Can you tell I hate clowns?)
The evil lurking within a clown reminds me of Ronald McDonald.
