Catching Kisses (Kyrielle Sonnet)

I catch your kisses in the rain,
Though lost to a greater design,
I know I’ll find you once again;
You promised this would be your sign.

When clouds will gather up above
And sun will sulk and does not shine,
It is a showering of love;
You promised this would be your sign.

We’re bound by love, eternal truth,
A will that life cannot confine.
You make a trail back to our youth;
You promised this would be your sign.

I catch your kisses in the rain;
You promised this would be your sign.

    I love that first line—so romantic! Another idea for a book you could publish would be one that teaches the different styles of poetry using your own poems. Schools and homeschool educators would love it!

      Haha well, considering I had to take out an entire stanza because I realized it was 4 lines too many, I don’t think I’m exactly qualified to be teaching anyone anything…although I do like to try! Hehehe. πŸ™‚

    So, so, so beautiful Cubby, I felt so warm reading this! My favourite part:”When clouds will gather up above
    And sun will sulk and does not shine,
    It is a showering of love;
    You promised this would be your sign.”

    I’m going to think about this the next time it rains…this is so sweet! And I think I understand the pattern for the kyrielle sonnet, but I’ll wait for your description if this is going to be a poetry challenge.

    A great Sonnet. Love sonnets that aren’t too mushy and yours is a great example. πŸ™‚

      Methinks mushiness is in the eye of the beholder, hehe. Glad you liked this! πŸ™‚

    Cubby, your beautiful poem brought back fond memories of loved ones not with me any more and how we find little signs of comfort in everyday life to let us know we are still loved by them. Beautiful and comforting. Thank you.
