Figures of Speech

I came across this amazing illustration posted by Tavamanickam Ramasamy in one of the Facebook groups I recently joined while doing extensive research on publishing and marketing.  There are 27 figures of speech within this picture.  One of them is “An ace up his sleeve.”  How many of the remaining 26 can you find?

Figures of Speech

I will post the answers on Saturday! 🙂

    1. Hehe just had to post this when I came across it. It is unbelievable the amount of information available in these groups.

      1. Yes there’s a lot to learn and see 🙂

      1. 10 I think. It’s not that easy lol

        1. It’s definitely not easy! But once you know the answers, you’ll be like… “Doh!”

  1. Once they started to flow, I got quite a lot. 🙂

    1. Most of the figures of speech are quite common, although a couple I’ve rarely heard used. 🙂

      1. Looking forward to the answers so I can have those “ah ha” moments. 😀

        1. Time to say “Ah ha!” 🙂

          1. I admit, I did laugh 😄

  6. There’s way too much going on in that picture. A few are obvious. I see seven so far.

Hey Cubs. I’ve missed you around here. I hope all is well.

    1. Hey Nobbin! I have been fully immersed in researching how to market for indie authors. I tend to lose track of time when I do things, so it feels like I blinked and days went by. Hope you are doing well also!

      1. I hope your research was fruitful. I saw you found some Facebook groups. I said something similar about time the other day. Something like, “Time is like a neglected love for me. I turn around, and it’s gone.”

        1. Yeah, I can never keep track of time. Nights and days all blur together. The thing about research is that the more research I do, the more I realize I need to do more research.

          1. Day’s the light one. Night’s the dark one.

Research is tricky like that. I don’t know how many times I’ve started researching something and ended up reading about the creation of Batman or watching YouTube videos with no idea how I got there.

            1. Yeah, and then hours, then days, then weeks later…where am I?

              1. Somewhere in Canada. I can see it, but can’t think of the name. Geographical genius.

  7. Time flies
    Silver spoon in his mouth
    Kicking the bucket

    1. Yes, just been busy researching. I tend to lose myself with certain things.

      1. Must be some fun research work. Well keep coming back occasionally😊🌸

          1. I know. Hope to see you here more frequently

Kick the can down the road.
Don’t put all of your eggs into one basket.
